Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of youth in Philadelphia by providing quality services and programs to support athletics and development.

 

The Thomas & Woods Foundation will improve health and wellness among at-risk youth in urban settings by supporting them and their families with educational, athletic and civic engagement based programs that are designed to build essential life-skills and create future leaders. 

We want to carry out this mission by: 

 

  • Providing Quality Programs - All programs hosted or sponsored by the organization will be quality experiences that spur healthy academic, athletic, and social development in participants. These programs consist of summer camps, leagues, conferences, and more.   

  • Acquiring Resources – Our team will work relentlessly to secure privately donated athletic equipment, apparel, and funding to support internal programs and to provide resources to other athletic-based initiatives that service students in PIAA District 12.

  • Maximizing Resources – Through a rigorous review of applications from schools and community programs that apply, we will determine qualifications and need. Based on our assessment, we will match the current inventories of equipment with the highest need and purchase additional equipment to supplement the needs of those who qualify.

  • Following Up – Representatives will follow up with qualifying applicants on a regular basis to ensure our support is leading to the success of our mission.
